Employees of communal properties established Verband Liegenschaften Schweiz in 2006 with the goal of sharing basics and experience with their colleagues working at other communes, municipalities and cantons. During their free time and even during holidays, they searched for a name for the association, created a logo, designed a website and recorded the association in a legal sense as non-profit association in the commercial register.
Soon, the first standards, service catalogues for property management (ongoing services), for builder consultation (temporary services) and a file system were created. Another milestone was the continuing education offer, which consisted of professional events and a course for public property managements given in four-day-modules (in cooperation with the ZHAW) and these are offered annually to this day.
VLS Checks offer communes for the first time an overview of both their financial and their personnel needs.
